fofix - issue #963

Runtime Error C++

Posted on Sep 2, 2009 by Massive Ox

OK, the new version of FOFIX (v 3.120 RC1) works fine. its all good. its like nothing changed. i go to play a song, then it says that i have an runtime error, and that the application requested that the Runtime terminate it unusually. the title says Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library.

i looked around and found nothing, so sorry if this issue was out and i wasted your time.

Please at least take some time to read the following: http://code.google.com/p/fofix/wiki/ReportingBugs#Steps_to_report_a_bug_or_issue

ok. i apologize. i am an ignorant noobyperson when it comes to these matters. i followed the steps, and it still popped up. i start up the game like normal (from the source folder, not a shortcut) and the game progresses like normal. i select my mode (solo, quickplay, though i also tried tour and the problem still occured), i select my instrument (guitar) and i select my character, i select my song, i select my instrument, and i select my difficulty. up to this point, nothing happened. at the loading screen, the program closes, and the popup occurs. i click OK, and thats the end.

i do not have the FOFIX.exe.log the first .ini is BEFORE i tried a blank .ini the second .ini is the blank one i tried. the .jpg is the error showed just fyi

The C++ error is not useful. You ought to have a fofix.log (not fofix.exe.log).

Please find it and attach it here.

Thanks!

Unfortunately your log doesn't contain any error... However, I wonder if it's related to the following posts: http://tr.im/xLhi

(Most likely unrelated, but just in case: I noticed that you have an enabled midi port. As midi instruments are quite uncommon, i wonder if that still-young-code is robust enough yet.

Can you try disabling your midi port or unplugging your Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth?)

are you running the 3.120rc1 py2.4 version?

i had that problem too - something must have gone wrong while building.

try this version: http://www.fretsonfire.net/forums/viewtopic.php?p=445097#p445097

Not enough information to work on this and it might have been already covered elsewhere.
