turnip-town - issue #43

Error upon open (doesn't affect GW)

Posted on Jul 5, 2010 by Happy Cat

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Open the Program 2. 3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? Should be nothing :)

I see

GrooveWalrus Error

XRC resource: Cannot create bitmap from 'graphics/go-next.png'.

OK

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? .302 Vista

Please provide any additional information below.

No big deal, program still runs.

Thanks a bunch for making this great software.

Oh, and nothing to do with this error, but I no longer can download the music. I press that "Save Song" image, even wait for the song to finish, but it doesn't appear in C:\Users------\AppData\Local\GrooveWalrus

http://code.google.com/p/turnip-town/downloads/detail?name=gw_0302_setup.exe Okay, there's fixes in the above installer. or if you want you can grab: http://turnip-town.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/groovewalrus/graphics/go-next.png http://turnip-town.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/groovewalrus/graphics/go-previous.png and copy them into your \program files\groovewalrus\graphics\ directory Thanks!

Hmm, did you play the song before? It might be getting saved to the cache folder: C:\Users----\AppData\Local\GrooveWalrus If it's in there, then it doesn't get copied to your save directory, if you delete it from your cache, then it should download again and save correctly. I will enter a new bug for this and fix it sometime soon. If that's not the problem, let me know.

'Save Song': enables saving of the next song that's retrieved from Grooveshark - using the Flash plug-in will prevent songs from saving - playback of a local song will not re-save the song - enabling the Save Song button after the song has downloaded will not save that song - previously cached songs may not get saved* (* should be fixed in the future) - songs will get saved to the directory defined on the Main Tab of the Options Tab or the mp3 folder of your default data directory (see: File Locations And Descriptions)

That new installer worked great. I feel stupid haha, sorry, didn't see that using Flash plug in would prevent the saving of songs. Songs saving works great. Whoops. Thanks for the quick response.

Actually, before I had a record button, that let you record songs while you were using the Flash plug-in. And don't feel too bad because "using the Flash plug-in will prevent songs from saving" isn't mentioned anywhere (that's from my incomplete help file).

Also, if you dig around in the options: "Automatically save new songs..." and "Pre-fetch songs..." might be interesting to you (although Pre-fetch is broken right now, it'll be fixed in the next version).
