0.7.6 freezes at enter URL page on EZ-Flash Vi

Posted on Oct 20, 2009 by Swift Rabbit

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. boot up 0.7.6 2. go to the part where you enter the URL 3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Which version are you using?

0.7.6 -- also this version is different than described on the Wiki http://code.google.com/p/quirkysoft/wiki/Bunjalloo

This description has the subfolder "user" listed, but as extracted from the download there is a folder called "cert" instead.

Let me add additionally, if this means anything, that on the "Enter a website address" page that it gets stuck on, it lists "file:///licence ". Maybe this means nothing.

Could the problem be the DLDI patch do you think?

Does EZ-Flash Vi have a special DLDI patch that is distinct from the EZ-Flash V patch?

It's looking to me now like an EZ-Flash Vi issue.

The card shouldn't actually require any patching. Looks like EZ-Flash has dropped the ball on this one.

Can anyone confirm this? Any way around this on your end?

I have an EZ Vi to test with interestingly enough. Could it be related to the touch screen problems? I know I had problems with moonshell vs the ds homebrew menu (see my blog for details..)

I take it you're having the same problems as me. Is there a solution do you think?

I haven't tried Moonshell yet. Were you able to get it working, or did that cause problems as well?

I've just tested 0.7.6 out with the latest "kernel RC 2.0" from the ezflash homepage and the "homebrew menu" from the devkitpro subversion repository. It seems to be an old bug in the booting code is used in Moonshell - the touch screen doesn't work at all with libnds 0.3.6 and upwards. See this blog entry for details:

Unfortunately that means it is pretty much out of my control, but there are workarounds.
