procfw - issue #212

Feature in the system for psp 3,001 6.39, if going back to OFW possible.

Posted on Aug 14, 2011 by Massive Camel

I was just asking if it was possible to go back to the OFW(in case my PSP has some bit of the hardware break and I have to send it in for repairs) it's brand new, and thus not being able to go back to the stock 6.39 before sending it in would be something that'd bother me. Is this feature inside of procfw, on the psp 3,001? I have no idea what "g" it is, but I do know that supposedly they're not pandorable so thus I'm really worried about bricking/hardware failure(since it's still new).

Also what time frame will b9 be finalized?(since I don't want to use beta firmwares due to worriedness)

To answer this question, I think it is just loaded into RAM, which would explain why when you shut the system off, it goes back to OFW. If you would drop your PSP, then I think the RAM contents would be lost if it broke and could not start. THen it would be at OFW for Sony.

Ah ok good. That is what I was wondering was how it worked exactly, since I did not want to risk it, if it was at all possible. Also how do you find out what "g" your PSP is? I've googled everything and no one has been able to give me that information.

Also when I look under the UMD I see the following i6v4a. I have no idea what the "g" is, and thus I'm not even sure if I can use the thing. Also I think that they should have some more information about that on the wiki page about installation or on the front page.

There should be a support part on this project page, if that is even possible, for questions like this, but since you asked, the best way to figure out is to install using the PROUPDATE program. Then it should tell you which model you have, and install options.

For mine, I think it said something like PSP 3000 detected (04g).

(and then it listed the install options)
