Posted on Jun 1, 2011 by Happy Hippo

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Castlevania dracula x chronicles which is japan region title screen then go to Symphony of the Night and then load Symphony of the Night game save will not load.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Black sreen and memory stick card stops running, psp is crashed.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

I am using 6.39 pro b6, which is on psp 1000 model.

Please provide any additional information below.

hmm i dont know whats going on but as you said i tested my Castlevania dracula x chronicles on all 3 of my psp's 1000 2000 3000 (umd) and it did not crash when ran, loaded or saved under Symphony of the Night on 6.39 pro b6. I would disable all your plugins and make sure umd iso mode is set to Inferno unless your using a backup which i have no info on the current support.

did you mess/change any of the game load functions under your 6.39 pro b6 vsh/recovery menu?

thanks for the info input

Hm... very interesting, this title should be especially well supported - because its one of the favorite games of my teammate Hrimfaxi.

So far I cant really reproduce the issue... are you using a valid UMD dump of the game? Untouched, ISO or CSO?

So far I can only suggest the obvious possible solutions... disable all plugins, redump your UMD to make sure the dump is legit, etc.

Awaiting feedback from your end to see whether one of the possible solutions worked for you.

I had problems with this game too, SotN always crashes when i tried to open it but for me it was simple to solve, i was playing a .cso i only had to unconpress it for .iso. Works fine now.

Castlevania SoTN in Castlevania Chronicles (U) or (E) only goes to the first video playback. After the movie, the screen goes black and the PSP turns off instead the first "now loading" screen. (this issue hapens on 6.35 PRO-B2,B3, B4, B5 and now, B6)

I'm using PSP 3001 09g. on 6.35 PRO-B6

Known bug. It doesn't work with CISO. Decompress it to ISO and try again

All plugins disabled and still the same issue, the game is in cso, going to test iso.

I've encountered this issue before also. Its a strange one. Through my testing I've found that under old 5.00M33 and 5.50GEN CFW the game will load and work perfectly as ISO or CSO using any of the No UMD drivers found in those FWs.

Testing the same files however on 6.20/6.35/6.39 PRO-B4/B6 as well as 6.38ME and 6.39ME with all of the available No UMD drivers the game will only load in ISO format.

I've tested the this game with PRO CFW on a PSP-1000 and a PSP Go. The ME CFW was obviously only tested on the PSP-1000.

I'm running the game from .iso on PSP-3004 4g with 6.39 PRO-B8, and everything works as it should there.

On my PSP Go 6.20 TN-E, SOTN of Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles stuck at loading screen. The problem is gone on my PSP Go 6.20 Pro C2. FYI.

@#19: Same problem using same firmware. Different ISO failed but switching to Pro C2 worked. Thanks.
