btstack - issue #331

Btstack mouse, some possible improvements...

Posted on Apr 8, 2013 by Quick Elephant

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. After using another bluetooth stack every time is necessary to follow the pairing procedure. 2. 3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? I think, the possible way to use the mouse after using another stack for another device is to just turn it on, start the application and *if I tap on the last used mouse, just to try to connect to the last used mouse. Now the application asks to turn the mouse in discoverable mode with every btstack activation.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? iPod 2G, iOS 4.2.1, Microsoft Wedge mouse, BTstack 0.6-9, BTstack Mouse 1.6-4.

Please attach a package log, as described here: Not available...

and provide any additional information below.

Another stack which I'm using is roqyBT4. There are issue too, but this is because roqy has optional (switchable) listening for application request, which kills the btstack in random intervals. At least I'm not planing to use the mouse and the GPS in the same time, so, good solution will be to have possibility to turn off Automatic pairing on data request in roqy stack automatically when btmouse is connected. And switch back after btstack is deactivated.

With the best regards from Bulgaria ... Vaklin Hristov

The new BTC Mouse & Trackpad package (which doesn't work on iPod 2G, 4.2.1 unfortunately), extends the iOS Bluetooth stack similar to roqyBt (well, it's quite different but it is also using the iOS stack).

I'd like to ask you for one more improvement. Please add auto reconnect function to the mouse until the user did not deactivate it. Especially wedge mouse sometimes freezes. This can be found in Windows 7 with original MS stack too. After installation of Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard center the problem go out. So, this means here is something which wakes up the mouse.

Also, I'm interesting to use the touch functions in this mouse. I'm understanding, there is a commercial package, but my device doesn't meet requirements. Simple for me is to buy a software if I can buy the right one, instead to change the unit.

The auto reconnect as seen on other systems is initiated by the mouse usually. This is not possible with the BTstack Mouse architecture. I'm sorry but I don't improve BTstack Mouse anymore.
