btstack - issue #27

Use of btStack keyboard and mouse

Posted on Mar 1, 2010 by Happy Bear

Hi there

a couple of suggestions/requests.

  1. if in an environment with very many bluetooth devices around, its hard to find the keyboard/mouse. would it be possible to only show keyboards/mice in the keyboard/mouse selection? although it is interesting, i dont really need to see all other bluetooth phones in my area.

  2. i have a mighty mouse, and I know that its clicks are currently not reporting. would it be possible to use the keyboard for either a) clicking or b) moving the mouse pointer, while we wait for the mighty mouse to work. that being said, I do not really want to replace my mouse for this reason alone, so Matthias, I would be happy to pay for a mighty mouse enabled edition of the mouse app.

Cheers,

Michael

to 1. if it would not show "other" devices, you could not see the difference between a non-working/visible keyboard and a keyboard that is not a HID keyboard.

most keyboards try to connect to the last used host, when a key is entered. I hope to support that in the near future. (4 weeks?)

to 2. honestly, I have no idea why the mouse is not sending the clicks. I mimicked the behavior of my MacBook in detail, but i did still get no clicks. so, it's not like a project to implement a missing feature. Can you try with linux? I might have a look at the Bluez sources.
