Hello Mathias.
I am trying to use BTStack GPS 1.6.1 with IOS 5.0.1 with no success.
I can connect to my external GPS device and 3D fix on a GPS signal. However, when I try to open the iPhone Maps application, it requires me to turn on Location services. Same with Navigon.
Is this a known issue? Thanks in advance

Posted on Jan 29, 2012 by Swift OxBTstack GPS doesn't change the requirement to enable Location services. I don't think it would be good to override the system behavior here.
BTstack GPS does tell the OS that the app doesn't need location updates after it receives the data from the external GSS (thus saving power again).

Posted on Feb 16, 2012 by Quick HippoFWIW, I've been experimenting with turning off Location Services as a way to keep Runkeeper from stopping my track logging after about 45 minutes. It didn't help my problem, but anyway there was no difference whether Location Services was left off or left on. BTStack worked fine either way.
