blacktree-quicksilver - issue #342

quicklookd infinit loop and possible vmem leak

Posted on Oct 17, 2010 by Happy Bear

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Running quicksilver 2. Waiting/normal use 3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? I expect qs to remain in the background waiting to be used. when running 'top' in the terminal, I see a command 'quicklookd' (the rest is truncated) which periodically eats up all my cpu. It causes my cpu to heat up at an alarming rate and keeps going until I kill it or restart.

I am also experiencing a virtual memory leak that seems to coincide with this problem.

What version of the product (including Quicksilver version, AND the module version related to the buggy functionality if appropriate) are you using? On what operating system? Current version: B58(3841) Mac Os 10.6.4 on macbookpro

Please provide any additional information below, and please attach the corresponding crash log under ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter if your problem ends this way.

When I kill quicklookd, several layers of launch panes popup and then close right away. This continues after reinstalling the os and then quicksilver.
