sixfixmix

Helping people communicate with government

SixFixMix is a civic tool that helps citizens communicate with their elected representative(s). It allows users to create an issue about a topic that they find important. The issue can be in the form of "problem/solution" or "in support of a good initiative". The issue cannot be just a problem. The issues can be voted up/down by other users (see StackOverflow as an example). The issues are geolocated. The user registers using open id and a geolocation. The geolocation can be used to display the user's elected representatives (municipal, provincial, and federal) and the latest/popular issues in that area. If a user views an issue that is relevant, the user can decide to send that issue to the representative (either as is or with modifications).

SixFixMix is a J2EE web application written in GWT running on the Google App Engine at http://sixfixmix.appspot.com.

Update May 4th, 2010 After seeing SeeClickFix.com, I've decided to put this project on hold. I might come back to it an re-purpose it later.
