CryptoBird - Make Security more Usable in Thunderbird

CryptoBird is a Thiunderbird Add-on that has been started as an academic project at Technische Universität Darmstadt at the department of Cryptography and Computer Algebra, chair Prof. Johannes Buchmann (http://www.cdc.informatik.tu-darmstadt.de/) and CASED (http://www.cased.de/) with the goal to enhance the usability of cryptography in E-Mail communication. CryptoBird enables the user for example to search all emails (even the encrypted ones) and encrypt the E-Mail subject.

CryptoBird uses BouncyCastle for all cryptographic functions (In case you are curious why we do not use the FlexiProider, developed by our own group: We are merging BouncyCastle and FlexiProvider, and soon there will be only BouncyCastle).

Since CryptoBird is still in beta stage you may experience some issues. If you do so, please report them in the bug tracker, we are trying to increase the functionality, usability and stability of CryptoBird continuously.

And if you want to contribute, feel free to contact us and help us with this :)

Features 0.1b

The first beta release of CryptoBird offers the following features: * Search all your encrypted E-Mails (PGP and S/MIME) (SearchInEncryptedMails) * Encrypt your subjects with your PGP keys (SubjectEncryption) * Integration of PGP decryption into Lightning (LightningIntegration)
