I followed all the steps and ran the windows batch file. My output was this:

Did you install the Atmel FLIP program? - http://www.atmel.com/tools/FLIP.aspx -
Is the Arduino plugged in? Is is it in 'Arduino UNO DFU' mode? Press any key to exit..
The arduino is plugged in and in DFU mode although it shows as the ATmega16U2 not the arduino DFU mode under system devices. Any solutions?

Posted on Oct 17, 2012 by Swift KangarooHi there - Did you install the Atmel Flip program? What OS are you running? Is it the 32 or 64 bit version? If it's showing up as the ATmega16U2, that's what it should show up as in DFU mode.

Im assuming your trying this on the "UNO". If you are having problems getting the Arduino board to show as being in DFU mode then it could be that you are using an "R1" version of the "UNO". flip the board over and if you dont see "R2" or "R3" Then its a Revision 1 board and requires an extra step to place it in "DFU" mode.
Go to this site: https://www.virtuabotix.com/?p=673
half way down under the heading "For version One only" is possibly all you need to sort this issue.

Posted on May 29, 2014 by Grumpy PandaPlus I'm unable to go back into Arduino mode. The batch says : "Atlibusbdfu : 3 EB 2FF7" no device present FAIL couldnot open sb device. I can't use my arduino anymore for now.
