In the later versions of Ubuntu i.e. Intrepid Ibex, the Log off option and Shut down options have been separated so there is no shut down option in the System Management menu. I have added one. The files that I have updated are attached and add the Shut down option to the System Management pane.

Replace the following files:

/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/usp/plugins/system_management.glade /usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/usp/plugins/system_management.py

You will need to then issue the following command:

killall gnome-panel
