No Shutdown option on newest version of Ubuntu

Posted on Jan 1, 2009 by Happy Giraffe

In the later versions of Ubuntu i.e. Intrepid Ibex, the Log off option and Shut down options have been separated so there is no shut down option in the menu. I have added one. The files that I have updated are attached and add the Shutdown option to the System Management pane.

Replace the following files:

/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/usp/plugins/system_management.glade /usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/usp/plugins/system_management.py

You will need to then issue the following command:

killall gnome-panel

I have attached an amended system_management plugin that should work on all versions, changing buttons respectively. If this could be verified I will commit it asap.
