I have installed USP and ubuntu 8.10 but when i add the USP to gnome panel, i just see a little withe point on the panel , so little that a can't click on it (1 x 1 pixel size !), and this pb makes USP unuseable.

please resolve this pb please

PS : i have seen this on youtube http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=BBSm5RZ2fDs

very impressive : Fake or really USP 3 ? And if this is really USP3, that means that it is very advanced !, could I test it ?? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE !!!!!!!

Please could you try running usp run-in-window from a terminal and post or attach the output. Thanks, Malac.

Perhaps I have the same issue. Have installed latest SVN (as of 16 Feb 2009) following the install instructions here: http://www.howtoforge.com/installing-ubuntu-system-panel-on-ubuntu-8.10

When I add it to a panel nothing appears. Even tried creating a new panel and adding it. Perhaps it is adding but is only 1x1 pixel. Not sure about that. This is quite a high res screen so I doubt I would see a white 1x1 pixel on a light grey panel bar.

Here is the result of usp run-in-window: **** PLEASE IGNORE ANY API VERSION WARNING ******* ****** IT SHOULD NOT EFFECT USP OPERATION ******** Using Standard Menu No User Picture Specified or File Not Found uspuser: loaded successfully system_management: loaded successfully applications: loaded successfully recent: loaded successfully Icon 'kat' not found, using gtk-file instead. Any suggestions? With thanks... Jonathan

Hi jonathan Can you please swap the attached file with the applications.py file in /usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/usp/plugins folder then run: usp -w -v This should print the .desktop file that usp is failing on then if you could attach that file here I will take a look at what the problem is as I cannot recreated this on any of my machines. Thanks.

I have updated the SVN to hopefully trap this error. USP should now start regardless of the error.
