Network Setup

The VEXPro ARM9 is capable of 802.11g wireless networking (WiFi) when equipped with the VEXnet USB Adapter Key. A wireless network connection is required in order to develop code with the TerkIDE. The VEXPro ARM9 can connect to a wireless network via the following modes: 1. Ad-hoc, non-encrypted 1. Managed, non-encrypted 1. Managed, WPA encrypted need to insert description or links on how to set up

To check connection status and to retrieve your IP address, go to the LCD Menu on the VEXPro. 1. Press the Cancel key 3 times to make sure you are in the topmost menu. 1. Use the up/down arrows to scroll to "Wireless Networking", press OK. 1. Scroll to "Wireless Status" (should be the first choice), and press OK. 1. You should get a screen with "Wireless is on" and a check mark in the Info box. Press OK to retrieve the wireless networking info which includes the SSID (if applicable) and the IP address (e.g. 192.168.1.2) of the network the VEXPro is connected to. Jot down the IP address for future reference.

Verify Network Connection (optional)

You can verify that you can connect to your VEXPro by "pinging" your VEXPro from your computer.

In Windows XP, click on the Start menu, select "Run" and type "ping " in the text box.

In Windows 7, click on the Start menu, and type "run" in the search box, then select "Run". Type "ping " in the text box.

If your VEXPro is on your network, you should receive reply messages from pinging. If you see a "Destination host unreachable" message or similar, your VEXPro is unreachable for some reason, possibly including: 1. Your computer may be on a different network than the network your VEXPro is connected to. 1. The network encryption key may be incorrect. 1. Your VEXPro may be out of range of your Wifi router or access point. 1. Your computer may be out of range of your Wifi router or access point. 1. Your computer may be out of range of your VEXPro (if you are using ad-hoc networking).
