What steps will reproduce the problem? StExBar does not install on Windows 2000.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead? Windows 2000 reached end of life in June 2010. But it is still a very usable and stable operating system if locked down and secured properly. Can you please make it work with Windows 2000.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.
I know Windows 2000 is a stone-age operating system in this age, but StExBar is very useful for OSes even in a virtual machine. Because Windows XP is already supported, it would be trivial I suppose to support Windows 2000?
Or is there any technical dependency due to which XP is required? :)

Posted on Jul 21, 2011 by Helpful HippoNo, Win2k is not supported and won't be supported ever. It lacks the most basic APIs and doesn't even support proper shell toolbars so StExBar couldn't work there even if we tried to make it work.
Asking for Win2k support is like asking Ford to provide a motor for your horse...

Posted on Jul 21, 2011 by Massive OxOkay. I didn't know that it lacked the APIs otherwise I wouldn't have asked. :) Do the APIs exist on Windows Me? Btw which APIs are we talking about? Can you point me on MSDN to them?

Posted on Jul 21, 2011 by Helpful HippoSeriously? Windows Me?
You can check the source code and find all the APIs that Win2k doesn't have. There are just too many of them...

Posted on Jul 23, 2011 by Massive GiraffeAgain I am asking about legacy OSes because it becomes easy to work with them (for fun or work) in virtual machines. Also I mentioned Windows Me as it has the newest shell version prior to XP. Sorry if it is so shocking. I thought Windows Explorer toolbars were supported since Windows 98/IE4.

Posted on Jul 23, 2011 by Massive GiraffeI meant drop it I just explained why I asked about it. No longer requesting any support for obsolete OSes if it can't be supported.
