stexbar - issue #154
explorer.exe crashes on browsing for files if adding a new custom command
What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. go to settings 2. click "add" 3. click "..." for browsing files
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
i should be able to browse my files for selecting a application or an icon. but instead of this, my explorer.exe restarts.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
v1.8.2.316 on XP SP3, german
Please provide any additional information below.
can not provide much on information because the error just closes all windows and restarts the explorer.exe process. no system event log entry provided.

Posted on Feb 5, 2011 by Happy Horsecase can be closed. seems to be something winlogon.exe related. got EventID 1002 and it may have something to do with my vmware. have to take a deeper look into it.

Posted on Feb 5, 2011 by Happy Horseyes. it's a bit confusing. it first appeared when trying to add some new stuff to stexbar. a day later it was a systemwide problem but i got no system events related to this problem. then in the morning i tried run program via startmenu and a vmware crash dump message appeared. well, the last time i ran vmware was >7 days ago and i disabled everything vmware related (i always do after use, only network adapter remains active). now i'm getting system events, but without source information. i tried disabling some shell extensions but that won't help.
a bit weird. i hope, it's just a wrong DLL or something similar because it's a fresh install.
thanks for your time. it's a very useful tool :)
