What is the expected output? What do you see instead? It should maximize the window.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system( 10.5 or 10.6)? 10.6

And the hotkey option-cmd-F is normally used to access the search form, e.g. in Mail.app or in XCode.app. So the hotkey for making a window to full-screen should probably better be ctrl-option-cmd-F or the like.
