What steps will reproduce the problem?

Install a package with symbolic links, like crags. There are symbolic links, like crags -> etags. Then remove the package.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

No symbolic links after removing the package. But there are missing symbolic links present in the file system.

This issue happens in Snow Leopard and Lion.

When you read "crags", it's ctags (blame Lion's autocorrecting).
