I created a new branch "cleanup_package_offering" to remove all packages that don't make much sense to have.
I refrain from removing cheetah after seeing that it used a c extension and there apear to be many users of it still.
The list of removed packages is here (legend: p) use pip, o) other package on the internet):
- bzr o
- django p
- docutils p
- ipython p
- mercurial o
- python-twitter p
- scons p
- vim o
- web.py p
- wine o
- xemacs o
Any more (or less) packages to remove?

Posted on Feb 16, 2011 by Quick CatSome of these packages are already removed and I documented here at http://code.google.com/p/rudix/wiki/NotInRudix the alternative way to install.
There's still controversy in remove mercurial or bzr, so I'm closing this issue for now.
