Dealing With Changing Screen Resolutions

Posted on Mar 30, 2009 by Grumpy Camel

What steps will reproduce the problem? Run a program that changes the screen resolution (eg. Fallout 2).

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? Rainmeter windows are "pushed" into the middle of the screen when the resolution first changes. The screen resolution changes back when the program is ended, but the Rainmeter windows remain out of position. Altering the state of the "save position" and "draggable" options does nothing.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? 0.14.1 The problem also occurs in 0.14 The OS is Windows Vista Home Premium.

Please provide any additional information below. If the problem is a related to some config option attaching a example is always a good idea. Try to keep it as simple as possible and make sure that it is a fully working Rainmeter config (i.e. it includes all graphics too). I'm using a combination of BGlass and Enigma. It might be worth noting that Rainlendar 2 does not suffer from this problem.

Check off "Keep on screen". Then, it will not be controlled by resolution.

This is a known issues that I tackled last week. Support for resolution changes was added in r29 which has not made it into a build yet. Please re-try once a new build is created and released. Thanks for your support of Rainmeter and let us know what other issues you see.
