rainmeter - issue #143

Rainmeter won't work on Windows 7 x86 build 7600

Posted on Feb 25, 2010 by Swift Monkey

Just installed Rainmeter (after reinstalling my PC and upgrading from XP to Windows 7) and I was very happy to get my stuff back. But it just won't work! Installed successfully, I launch it (even in compatibility mode), the RM icon appears on the notification area, but when I click on it, nothing happens. No menu, no change, nothing.

What can be the problem?

This is an issue with your NOD32 ESET antivirus. You need to add an exception for the following folders:

Windows Vista & Win7: C:\Program Files\Rainmeter Windows Vista & Win7: C:\Users\YourName\My Documents\Rainmeter Windows Vista & Win7: C:\Users\YourName\Appdata\Roaming\Rainmeter

How can I do this? I'm using Eset Smart Security v4.0, and I can't find any option for exceptions! (Only for firewall)

fonix, open up your ESET progra,. Hit the F5 key, this should open up ESET's setup menu. Go to "Antivirus and antispyware", under there is an option called "Exclusions". Click on that, and just add the folders mentioned above by "jmorley".

Hope it solves ur prob, gl.
