puppy-development - issue #66

Can't use heavy encryption on usb stick to store session data

Posted on Jan 16, 2010 by Happy Camel

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Install puppy on usb stick (I have used qemu all over but the result is the same as I booted the stick in normal PC) 2. Boot the stick 3. Shutdown puppy and choose to save data to file 4. Choose heavey encryption 5. Boot the stick

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? After I type the right password it should load the file but it ask me to enter password again and again.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Puppy Linux 4.3.1

Please provide any additional information below.

I wasn't able to mount the saved file on debian squeeze to. After losetup - e aes... it was like it doesn't contain ext2 or other fs recognized by mount.

After that I made a new file thane losetup -e aes... it, mkfs.ext2... But Puppy can't load it either ask password again and again.

I renamed the file so I was able to boot up but with puppy I wasn't able to losetup-FULL -e aes... the file. The cryptoloop and aes kernel modules was missing... :(
