Grub loader timeout for one OS

Posted on Dec 5, 2009 by Massive Dog

If there is only one OS on the machine (and we assume Puppy!) the grub loader has no need to be set with a timeout any higher than 0. If the install script is capable of detecting other OS's and building a boot menu it should also be capable of detecting no other OS and setting timeout to zero. Hopefully.

This is referenced several times a month on the forums from new users confused as to why they appear to be given a choice of OS when there is only one OS.

This would prevent users from being able to enter boot time options such as pfix=ram etc...
