when viewing a pdf or ps in page and you request it scale the view, page scales the pre-rendered bitmap. this is a problem when a page is hard to read; something which is perfectly readable in high-quality print may be very difficult to read on the screen.

page keeps gs running, using it to render pages not in memory, so when the user requests the page at a different scale, why doesn't it request gs render the page at the new scale?
