Posted on Mar 13, 2010 by Swift HippoSorry, Spotify doesn't transmit the fact that it is Spotify over the interface used to get the track informatation, so there's no way to get the player name in this case, that's why we report it as 'unknown', see FAQ #6.

You might consider raising a defect on Spotify that it doesn't do this, but as that FAQ mentions, that might break other things.
