It's very difficult for me to find the time to solve this right now, but I'd be very happy to apply patches.

I just thought about this, and I don't actually call any fuse functions directly (except fuserumount on logout). Does encfs work for you after this upgrade?

If you can get me the new syntax for mounting it shouldn't be a problem to update the source to call that instead.

Please test with encfs 1.7.2. I used to have this bug but now it works. Not sure what fixed it.

With encfs-1.7.2 bug is not reproducible :)
