mxupdate - issue #165

Deployment Issue

Posted on Mar 23, 2012 by Happy Cat

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1.Copied downloaded files from MxUpdate to plugin and feature folder. 2.On opening the Windows -> Preference -> MxUpdate Settings.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? Blank Window will come! It should show the credentials window for connection. In absence of those values connection to Enovia is failing with Null pointer exception,

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Currently using 2012x version at my end. And Eclipse 3.7 Indigo

Please provide any additional information below. JRE / JDK 1.6 Windows 64 Bit Machine.

Would like to provide information how I have made delopment environment (following mainly MxUpdate Tool's own instuctions, but for Eclipse used another way) - download and install Pulse Explorer from http://www.poweredbypulse.com/all_os.php (pulse4-win64.zip) - when Pulse Expolerer is started, you can usen'Anonymous and Free' when asked how you want to use Pulse - add profile 'Eclipse 3.7 IDE for Java' (Indigo) - add needed add-ons from 'Add-on Software' - 'Run...' you newly made profile to install Eclipse and added plug-ins - acknowledge and accept licences and continue following - after all the needed parts are loaded and installed, you can start Eclipse normally (selecting correct workspace location) - follow instructions to create EclipseInstallation_ADK from http://code.google.com/p/mxupdate/wiki/EclipseInstallation_ADK (copy file 'eMatrixServletRMI_.jar' to folder '/Genuitec/Profiles/Eclipse 3.7 Java/dropins/plugins') - place file 'org.mxupdate.eclipse_0.10.0.jar' to same folder (personally using the one what is having unOfficial fix for issue #163, please note that fix is not related to your challenges at all) - restart Eclipse

Having Win7, JDK 1.6.0_32, V6R2012x and all works fine with 64bit, also this 'MxUpdate Settings'... ...hopefully you got at least somekind of information from this to solve your issue.

Note! Please remember to use Pulse Explorer when you are having needs to update or add new plug-ins to your Eclipse installation)
