Card Search for P/T is moderately confusing

Posted on Oct 13, 2011 by Massive Bear

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Go to Card Search 2. Use the Pulldown for the Power number

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? 0, 1, 2, 3, etc, but you see -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, etc.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Version 1.0

Please provide any additional information below. Would make more sense, instead of having >, =, and <, to have >=, =, and <=, so your numbers could start at 0.

Numbers can never start at 0, because searching for a power equal to -1 is valid. See Char-Rumbler and Spinal Parasite. I can add >= and <=, but when dealing with integer values they are redundant since (>= 3) is equivalent to (> 2)

Huh, well, what do you know. Well, that's what I get for skipping everything from Ice Age up to M12. You can always rely on Wizards for making things as complicated as bloody possible.

Yeah, it doesn't make much sense to change them up. I'll close this as WontFix, but I will have some future ideas on the Power/Toughness/CMC thing. Not that it's easy to make a complicated search pretty, but I find them deeply ugly in way that I am currently unable to put into words. :P
