mod-spdy - issue #68

ssl_request.log missing SSL_* when mod_spdy is installed

Posted on Mar 21, 2013 by Grumpy Rabbit

What version/revision number of mod_spdy are you using? 0.9.3.3-386

What version of Apache are you using, and on what operating system? (Use apache2ctl -v to check.) Apache/2.2.15

What other Apache modules are you using? (Use apache2ctl -M to check.) core_module (static) mpm_worker_module (static) http_module (static) so_module (static) authn_default_module (shared) authz_host_module (shared) authz_default_module (shared) include_module (shared) log_config_module (shared) env_module (shared) ext_filter_module (shared) mime_magic_module (shared) expires_module (shared) deflate_module (shared) headers_module (shared) setenvif_module (shared) mime_module (shared) status_module (shared) info_module (shared) negotiation_module (shared) dir_module (shared) actions_module (shared) alias_module (shared) substitute_module (shared) rewrite_module (shared) proxy_module (shared) proxy_http_module (shared) cache_module (shared) disk_cache_module (shared) cgi_module (shared) version_module (shared) geoip_module (shared) security2_module (shared) unique_id_module (shared) spdy_module (shared) ssl_module (shared)

What browser version did you use to access the mod_spdy server? On what operating system? What flags was the browser invoked with? (For Chrome/Chromium, go to about:version to check.) Chrome 22/Chromium/Firefox 19/Opera on Ubuntu 12.04

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Install mod-spdy 2. Log to ssl_request.log 3. Load webpage using spdy connection

What is the expected result? What do you see instead? Expected: [20/Mar/2013:20:45:01 -0400] 10.2.1.5 TLSv1.1 RC4-SHA "GET / HTTP/1.0" 142

What happens: [20/Mar/2013:20:45:01 -0400] 10.2.1.5 - - "GET / HTTP/1.0" -

SSL_PROTOCOL, SSL_CIPHER, and response size are 0 (response size bug #35) I believe all the SSL_* are missing, but haven't tested.

Please provide any additional information below.

CustomLog logs/ssl_request.log "%t %a %{SSL_PROTOCOL}x %{SSL_CIPHER}x \"%r\" %b"

is there any workaround to get the missing values into the ssl_request.log?
