When I join Jabber conference (don't know about other protocols) with my system locale set to Japanese, usernames look like:

instead of:

Under Russian locale they are fine.

Been more than a year, and the bug still persists.

The bug will probably persist forever, because development of TabSRMM has ceased from my side more than 2 years ago.

Your best bet would be to look into Miranda NG which is still under active development.
