miranda - issue #1373

Message delivery notifications

Posted on Jun 23, 2011 by Massive Monkey

Currently miranda can only show if message delivery has failed. And it does it after waiting 60 seconds (minimum, if you are using MSN), and during that time message doesn't even appear in message log. This also causes a lot of other troubles and because of this there are some "hacks" in protocols as well.

I would like to request a change of the way it works. Instead of showing when a message delivery has failed, display a delivery confirmation using an icon in message log, like it's done in Jimm, QIP, and some other messengers. So, for example, user sends message, it instantly appears in message log with normal icon, when server confirms it received message, icon changes to green, when client confirms it received message, a tick appears on icon.

SRMM does add item into the log instantly and shows notification only if message delivery failed.

Closing as not an issue.

Did you read it to the end? The request is not about it.

Please read this again and reopen:

And it's not an issue, it's a feature request. Can you stop blindly closing everything that you don't understand?
