What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Set Pidgin to 'Offline' status. 2. Set Pidgin to 'Away' status.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead? In my account preferences, I have "Not receive messages while unavailable" deselected, so I expect to connect to my Twitter account and see new messages.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? The plugin states that its version is 0.3.0. I'm using the current version of ArchLinux, and I've installed libmbpurple through the package community/microblog-purple 0.3.0-1 .

Posted on Feb 15, 2011 by Helpful WombatHi, thanks for the report. I can not reproduce this behaviour either in Windows (using Pidgin 2.7.5) or gentoo-Linux (using Pidgin 2.7.9) both are using mbpurple 0.3.0.
Have you reconnected the TwitterIM-account after deselecting "Not receive messages while unavailable" (changes to account-settings currently take effect only after reconnecting)
Which version of Pidgin are you using?
Does the TwitterIM icon of the account get gray (disconnected) when in "unavailable" mode?
Can you please start pidgin in debug mode logging it's output (i.e. pidgin -d > pidgin.log) switch to unavailable, wait a minute, then end pidgin and attach the log here?
