Posted on Sep 13, 2010 by Swift DogI was having the same issue. With microblog-purple version 0.3.0 and Pidgin 2.6.3.
What fixed it was an update to the latest version of Pidgin (2.7.3). Works great now!
Debug log attached from my old pidgin install if it would be any use...

Posted on Feb 15, 2011 by Helpful Wombatmaximus: In pidgin, open the accounts menu, select the TwitterIM account, in the submenu click on "remove access credential". Then try to reconnect.
