We could provide a local version of LinkedGeoData by retrieving all points/ways within a certain area. This can be done by providing an unrestricted version (no limit on results) of the REST interface at http://linkedgeodata.org/OnlineAccess. Basically, such a tool should call the REST interface, wait for some seconds (because of server load), perform the same REST interface call with an offset etc. until all the data is loaded.
