I have noted that entries in the tree of notes were quite widely spaced (vertically). The same is true for the spacing of menu entries and icons. The look of KeepNote differs somewhat from native Windows applications (looks more 'inflated').
A more condensed view would possibly provide a better overview of a greater proportion of a note-tree, reducing the need for scrolling up or down to some extent.
I am attaching screenshot for comparison of KeepNote's tree on the left side of the attached image and a tree from some other note-taking program with a more condensed tree style (on the right of the attached image). A greater number of entries can be viewed at once with a more condensed view of entries.

Posted on Jul 22, 2010 by Swift WombatVery good point ales.maver! Some time ago,I made a similar recommendation, however by providing screen-shots, the value of making changes to the vertical spacing is much clearer.
Spacing should be 'tightend up' so that more of the tree can be seen at a glance.
I have used the note-taking application TreeDBnotes for years and find that its interface and functions are really quite outstanding and worth noting during the development of Keepnote.

Posted on Nov 5, 2010 by Swift WombatHi Matt
Just to emphasize- to me, the wides spacing in the tree-view has become a fairly serious impediment to using Keepnote. I simply find the current view visually confusing and head-muddling.
The tree-view needs to be condensed significantly. Also, I think its not necessary to have an icon for each entry on the tree. Words themselves can funtion as a 'picture'. Please see the attached picture of the nice, condensed, concise menu from another application
Keepnote is getting better and better.

Posted on Feb 24, 2011 by Grumpy ElephantHi! I have tried KeepNote v0.7, but I haven't noticed any significant changes in the vertical distribution of tree-list terms. Should the changes be very noticeable or only minor?
Btw. Thanks for such good work, I have all the work on my projects saved in KeepNote. There is no better alternative.

Posted on Feb 24, 2011 by Quick ElephantThe spacing show be reduced from 2-pixels in between note names to 0-pixels. Also you can now change the font size of the treeview and listview. See "Edit > Preferences > Look and Feel > Application Font Size".
