You've done excellent work on this and I really enjoy using it. There's just one odd thing - if I boot up using bling as the composite manager, videos play back fine. If I boot using Ecomorph, playback flickers badly. I've tried adjusting refresh rate in the general settings as well as disabling various effects, but nothing seems to make a difference.

this is probably a driver issue. try other video outputs: x11 should be good. xv makes often trouble when used with opengl

Thanks for the quick reply. I actually found an easier solution: by setting the fglrx driver to sync-video=off, it solved the problem.
