independence - issue #391

Trying to activate phone with 1.0.2 causes iNdependence 1.1.2a to crash and phone needs to be restored

Posted on Feb 13, 2008 by Swift Hippo

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Some time after I click Activate on iNdependence 1.1.2a 2. 3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? iNdependence closed unexpectedly. Would you like to ... (options are given to either close, re- open).

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? iPhone with firmware 1.0.2. iNdependence 1.1.2a. Mac OS X 10.4.11, iTunes 7.4

Please provide any additional information below. I have (had) an activated and unlocked iPhone. I virginized it to upgrade to 1.1.1. After I restored it to 1.0.2 through iTunes, I tried to activate it with iNdependence 1.1.2a. But iNdependence said it couldn't run with iTunes 7.5. So I deleted iTunes and package files in /Library/Receipts. After that I could open iNdependence and even click Activate. It seems to run for a while and just quits and is asked if I want to try and re-open it again. By this time the phone displays a silver apple. Cant even open iNdependence again until the phone is removed from the cradle. Phone needs to be restarted and the yellow triangle comes up. I have restored the phone at this point several times and every time I try to run iNdependence, it does the same.

Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

Thanks
