This is a proposed enhancement.
GRiS should be able to sync automatically upon program start (although being able to do it in the same fashion the Mail app does would be really nice). The sync should be able to proceed while an article is being read, i.e., as a background task.
Thank you very much for your program! I'm using it as my sole offline RSS reader for the Touch now.
Greetings,

Posted on Feb 26, 2009 by Swift BirdHaha I was just going to suggest the same thing(or at least something similar). I think it may be possible to piggyback the "push new data", though I have no idea what apple's actually doing with it. I hope just getting it to call the sync command from gris is all that you'd need to do. Combine that with badge notifications and gris would be an untouchable app.
Thanks for this awesome app and your time. It's much appreciated.

Posted on Feb 27, 2009 by Happy DogThis has come up before, and is doable right now - it's just not very nice or robust (see issue 15 for details).
Personally I have no need for this feature, as I have an iTouch (so I sync in the morning and at night when I get home). Which means I'm not likely to devote much time to it.
With regard to the apple push data proccess, there's still no actual action from apple to allow third party devs to use that functionality yet.
