What steps will reproduce the problem? 1.Have a lot of feeds in one of your google reader category (eg. 1000 feed) 2.Sync GRiS using the "max items to download per feed" = 30 (it's an example) 3.When you see the downloaded feeds on GRiS you see only the oldest 30 elements from the feed not the latest 30 feeds (i am not talking about the sorting in the folder).
What happened? What should happen?
This is an extended example:
1)Feeds present in my Google Reader category (50 feeds): 10 feeds (today - 10 october 2008) 15 feeds (yesterday - 9 october 2008) 5 feeds (8 october 2008) 20 feeds (7 october 2008)
2)My situation in GRiS is clean, no feeds present. 3)I sync using "max items to download per feed" : 30 4)After syncing the situation on GRiS is like this:
20 feeds (date: 7 october 2008) 5 feeds (date: 8 october 2008) 5 feeds (date: 9 october 2008)
4)Nothing from 10 october has been downloaded!
What device and OS version are you using? Ipod Touch 2.1
What version of GRiS are you using? (it's in cydia) 0.3.8-1
Please provide any additional information below. I know this issue it's similar to number 51 but i don't think it has nothing to do with "Sort new items first" because the problem is not sorting, but the feeds downloaded on GRiS (the oldest one in the category insted of the newest).
A BIG THANK YOU FOR LISTENING!!! A true Fan.

Posted on Oct 10, 2008 by Happy DogYou are correct that the issues are different. However, the functionality is tied together. You can verify this by enabling "show newest items first" and doing a sync.
That is, if you sort newest items first, then gris will also download the newest items first.
This does not have to be the case, but it is currently. They can be made separate options if there are lots of people who wish to have their sort order and download order different. I don't know if that's the case, but I would assume it isn't.
Otherwise it seems like the best thing to do would be to just make the option description text more descriptive (i.e. longer).

Posted on Oct 10, 2008 by Grumpy BearHi gfxmonk, now I understand how it works. Because I wanted to download the LATEST feeds ( I cant imagine a person who preferes to download the oldest ones) but I want to show them in a descending order from the newest to the oldest in GRiS.
The best thing would be 2 buttons: the first to decide the sorting order in gris and the second to decide which feeds would be synced (the oldest or the newest). Really, is there anyone who likes to get the oldest feeds form a rss feed? :D
Thanks Tim, keep up the good work!!!!!!

Posted on Oct 25, 2008 by Massive PandaI certainly like to get the oldest entries in my feeds as I try to follow all of the entries in the feeds I follow, not just the "newest".
