gmarks-android - issue #31

Support for two-factor auth

Posted on Feb 26, 2011 by Happy Dog

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Enable '2-step verification' in Google Accounts page. 2. Login from a fresh installation of GMarks 3. After entered login information, the 'please wait' dialog will float on center of the screen, the '2-step verification' text box is there, but there's no way to enter the verification.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? 0.6.3 downloaded from Market

Please provide any additional information below. The workaround I found: press 'search' button of the phone when 'please wait' dialog apears, the dialog will then disapears. Now the verification code textbox is ready for typing.

Hey thanks for reporting this work-around. I plan to enable 2-factor auth soon in GMarks but I'm glad you found a solution in the meantime! If you post a market review with this information it will help other users who download the app.

I'll post this info to the normal channels as well (project page and Twitter) to spread the information as well until I can get the fix in the next release.

Thanks again!!

I found that workaround too but it's note quite easy.

Fixed and confirmed in 0.6.4. When the two-factor verification page is detected, the Authenticator activity is launched, with instructions to copy the code & paste it into the verification page.
