Attached is the original strings file for you to translate. I've also attached machine-translated files for Spanish and Portuguese from Google Translate. I'm curious to see how accurate they are, but it may make your job easier :)

Note, when you see %s it means 'a word will be inserted here' like a label name. %d means a number. So insert those characters where the label name or number should appear in the app for those strings.

When you're done, you should be able to attach your complete strings-es.xml and strings-pt.xml files to this issue.

hi, i completed the traduction, some strings are longer than the original ones because some words have no abbreviation, now i haven't time to compile with new strings so i don't see if the long strings fits okay, anyway, if that strings are too much long i can abbreviate using . and attach the new files, what you prefer. I tried to respect the uppercase words too. Waiting your answer. Cheers

Out of curiosity, how accurate were the machine translations? Did they make sense or was it completely off?

only some simple words or setences are ok in machine translated files, but the majority strings are completely off, like robot speaked or stupid sentences...at least in spanish/portuguese, also these languages has different origins than the english, maybe other languages more similar to the english can be translated without complains.

I realized there's one string I missed: can you translate this please?

Also, these two strings are too long in the UI:

In the UI, all you can see is "Habilitar Sincronización" for both of them, so you can't tell what option is what. So I'm thinking it might be re-written as: Navegador: Habilitar Sincronización Fondo: Habilitar Sincronización

if that makes sense, or just:

Sincronización con el Navegador Sincronización de Fondo

if you want to keep "Enable"(Habilitar) my suggestion is abbreviate "Sincronización" to "Sinc." or "Sincro.". if don't matter leave "Enable"(Habilitar) your second suggestion is better. Your first idea don't make sense for "Fondo: Habilitar Sincronización". Also, this problem only occur in spanish translate? portuguese is fine?

At least and less important in portuguese translated strings can you change:

to:

Intervalo de Sincronização Habilitar Sincronização em segundo plano

yes, only changes the uppercase, but in all other strings with "Sincronização" have first letter capitalized before i send you the files i checked several times but i missed these strings.

Also, capitalization is far from being correct. Spanish rules are quite clear. We only capitalize first word in a sentence and proper nouns (company names, application name, acronyms, people names...). Anything else should be lowercase.

Thanks for your feedback. Now, I'm aware that there are regional variants of Spanish, e.g. Mexican/American Spanish versus Spain?

Also, some of the capitalization errors are my fault due to how I had written the original English.

I'll try to incorporate this into the existing Spanish translation or create a second one if it turns out you're talking about a different locale from the original translation.

Yes, there are some dialects for some regions, but we share a lot of common words, so when we translate software, we use to use some standard terms.

Wrong capitalization due to translations from English is a typical issue. It's not critical, but having the correct one gives the translation a lot more quality.

Just fix the current one with the suggestions above which cover everything but capitalization. One locale should be enough. :-)
