This thing is really great, but it's just "that close" to being downright awesome.
The problem is that I have a massive CMS system that I deploy for several sites. It's about 25 mb. Sometimes I only need to change one small thing in a template. It's crazy to wait for a whole 25mb export to deploy the change.
Essentially, rather than doing an export every time, it needs to do an initial checkout and then an update subsequently. Rsync (I think) should be able to skip the .svn folders and files. Then, this would be awesome. I don't know that it's usable for me the way it is.

Posted on Aug 10, 2008 by Quick RabbitFirst of all, thank you for your interest in our project. Your feedbacks are really appreciated and help us to improve Fredistrano.
Indeed, now that our implementation is functional, we really have to work on several performance issues. In our environment, we had simply noticed that the application took too much time to change the file permissions.
However, your point is also interesting. I'll talk with Fred to see how we can add this improvement in a near future and maybe in the next release.
By the way, would you be willing to help us testing the next version of Fredistrano (should be ready in the next weeks)? We really need real and heterogeneous use cases to validate our development.

Posted on Aug 12, 2008 by Massive GiraffeYes, absolutely I'd love to test. I am about to deploy a new project that's much smaller than my big CMS, so it won't be as painful to update. And we can test svn updates as easily on the small project as on the big ones. Will I get notifications when an official beta is available?

Posted on Aug 15, 2008 by Quick RabbitExcept that I don't have your email (I guess it isn't rbra...@botany.org). Can you mail me ([username]@gmail.com) so that I can notify you for the upcoming release?
