Remove advertised support for Firefox 3.0 on FirePHP 0.4.x branch

Posted on Jan 27, 2010 by Happy Panda

I tried installing the latest compatible version of FirePHP on Firefox 3.0, both via addons.mozilla.org and via the firephp.org website, and I ended up with 0.4.x both times. However, that branch is compatible only with Firebug 1.5... which is only available for Firefox 3.5+. Thus I had to downgrade FirePHP to the 0.3.x branch.

I know you clearly warn that FirePHP 0.4.x is only compatible with Firebug 1.5 on the website. However, Firefox keeps prompting me to upgrade FirePHP all the time, since it detects a newer compatible version. As you can imagine, this is quite annoying, especially given that I sometimes approve the upgrade because I wasn't concentrating and it was bundled in with upgrades to other add-ons.

Please could you prevent FirePHP 0.4.x from advertising compatibility with Firefox 3.0!
