I notice that one of my feeds currently has 98 posts, some of them dating back weeks. This is an unessential feature, but it might be of use to some people. Basically it would be to add an option to only download (or store) the user defined number of posts. So if I set it to 4, it will only download the 4 most recent posts from that feed.

-Edit- I found that there is an option to hide items that are X days old. I'll use this for now but leave this suggestion here for your consideration.

Hiding X days old is better than this actually and the idea would interfere with the current X days old system.
