Standalone pencil application launches to dialog with only a white background and no controls

I installed 1.2.0 on windows XP. Launch the app. Only a white background shows up on the dialog.

Same for me, but my Win XP is on a virtual machine with Sun Virtual box. On Linux it works fine

Is this issue being worked on? I'm trying to evaluate Pencil for use in our company.

with new or clean installation this bug doesn't appear

Completely uninstalling Pencil (also removing the Pencil folders under AppData) fixes things.
