Are you using Boxee or XBMC? Boxee
Currently the remote only works via wifi and many users either do not run and or do not want to run wifi. In addition many more feel that the setup via wifi is complicated.
Solution: add bluetooth support so that the remote can work using bluetooth instead of wifi. This will also be great for uses who use these devices stand alone and do not even have them connected to a network at all! For example now a user who has boxee or xbmc on a car computer can control it from their phone! There are also many other users who have needs for bluetooth support and as the number of users of these two programs increase the need for bluetooth support grows as well.

Posted on Feb 27, 2010 by Massive ElephantI think Andrew's right about this. I can't find any info regarding Bluetooth control on http://developer.boxee.tv
Also, their info on the Remote Control interface only covers our current non-bluetooth methods. http://developer.boxee.tv/Remote_Control_Interface
As a workaround, does anyone know if there is a way to send HTTP requests over Bluetooth using Android, given what tools have to work with?
