boxeeremote - issue #12

Delete text

Posted on Oct 22, 2009 by Happy Bear

Are you using Boxee or XBMC? Boxee

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Go to an application or box within Boxee asking for text 2. Slide open the keyboard (Don't see an option for on screen keyboard) 3. Type in text and try to press delete to go back.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? I wanted to delete the text but instead when I pressed the Delete button it went back.

Please provide any additional information below.

I am unable to reproduce this issue, using the latest version of Boxee and BoxeeRemote.

Does anyone else have this problem? Please provide detailed instructions to reproduce the issue if you can.

Well I just upgraded BoxeeRemote to version 7 and I have the latest Boxee Beta installed. The remote does not go back when the Del key on the G1 is pressed, but it does not delete the text. I am able to go back and remove the text by pressing the on screen delete text button. I think it would still be good to be able to delete the text using the keyboard on the G1. To reproduce the issue you would open up Boxee and connect your G1 (I don't have another Android device so I can't tell if it is specific to the G1). Open up TV Shows or another app that lets you input text. Type in some text like "goodd" and press the delete key on the G1 remote to remove the extra "d". The extra "d" does not get removed.

I was able to reproduce this issue on Boxee's TV Shows screen. Thanks for clarifying that, and for reporting the issue.

However, it seems to only affect certain text fields and not others. For example, if you go into Settings -> Network -> SMB Client -> Workgroup, the Delete key works ok there.

If somebody tests out the remote with the various text fields in Boxee, that may help us figure out why this problem is happening.
