bitcoinspinner - issue #4

for wallet backup or private key export, copy QR code to clipboard only copies the public BTC address

Posted on Mar 25, 2012 by Massive Hippo

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. menu -> settings 2. item "backup wallet" or "advanced->export private key" 3. below the QR code, tap "copy to clipboard"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? I expect that the plain text version of the displayed QR code is copied to clipboard. Instead, only my pubblic BTC address is copied to the clipboard.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Bitcoin Spinner Testnet version 0.5.2b, on Android 2.3.3 (Samsung Galaxy Ace) and Android 3.2.1 (Acer Iconia A500), both show identical behaviour.

Please provide any additional information below. I would also welcome a text in the help section explaining the purpose of the menu item "export private key" as opposed to "backup wallet", as most users (incl. myself) think that wallet and private key are the same thing...

Backup wallet is in a form that can be imported to bitcoin spinner. Export private key is just the private key in Sipa format. It can be imported to My Wallet at Blockchain info.
